Fragments of Identity
This series explores the complex identities of today’s modern girl and woman, examining the messages we internalize about who we are and who we should be. Society feeds us lies about how our lives should look - lies we rarely question or discuss. Using the traditionally feminine art of needlework, I reflect on the tension between these expectations and authentic selfhood asking: what empowers us? What harms us? Who are we, really?
By juxtaposing imagery, text, and symbolism, the work challenges cultural narratives that shape and distort women’s lives. It’s a call to unlearn, redefine, and celebrate the strength and complexity of our true identities.
